1. What is your mentoring background and related experience?
Certified in 2003 as a mentor and in 2005 as a child facilitator. I work using the dialogue process in California and throughout the United States with families of autism and patients who come to the Brain Therapy Center. I also do on site and phone dialogues with participants of the Option Institute.
2. Why did you become an Option Process® Mentor/Counselor?
My path began from the desire to have the clarity of mind and emotion that studying the dialogue process could give me and continues to grow from my desire to share this freedom with others.
3. Why do you believe The Option Process® and the Option Process® Dialogue are so effective?
Because dialogue accesses the person’s own knowledge rather than the knowledge and beliefs of the therapist and because it creates a way of thinking that encourages the frontal lobes to override the amygdale. It is very similar in many ways to cognitive behavior therapy which is presently being touted as the ‘most effective’ new kid on the block. However the Option Process® is in my opinion superior to even this technique in that it applies behavioral learning from the vantage point of the person doing the learning. Thus dialogue and the accompanying teachings are not only more applicable they are more motivating.
4. How can someone specifically use The Option Process® Dialogue to change their life?
By opening up their minds to the concept that they are the person in charge not only of what happens but of how they feel about it one has the opportunity let go and live free.
5. How have you used The Option Process® Dialogue to change your life?
Every single day when I speak with myself, my children or my patients I share this process, and every single day I find myself saying thank you to whoever guided me to it. From this process I have stopped looking to be saved, stopped marrying to be supported and begun the joyous act of living with responsibility.
6. Do you recommend anything (specific reading, listening, viewing, etc.) to help someone prepare for a dialogue?
I usually teach to the process for about ten minutes and then recommend Happiness Is A Choice.
7. Do you have any client quotes that you would like us to include?
“Lynette is a modern day Polly-Anna. But instead of just seeing a bright world she brightens it.”
John Argo, San Francisco, CA
8. Please include a brief statement on what being a mentor has meant to you, along with any inspirational stories or updates on your progress as a professional mentor.
When I first began working at the Brain Therapy Clinic my techniques (dialogue) were seen as slightly unusual but extremely effective. Very quickly the patients began to request this very special approach and instead of staying in therapy, graduating into a world of self ownership. I combine dialogue, Option Process® teaching, child facilitation and neurofeedback. In the past six months I have seen three bi-polar, two cases of depression, one Parkinsons patient, three ADHD children and one sexually traumatized woman reclaim their lives. For me the inspiration is in the amazingly large number of people who walk away healed.
