Creating
Emotional Strength by using the Option Process®
Dialogue
"What
an unbelievable shock it was when I learned that my
Mother was diagnosed with cancer and had less than
a year to live. One of my greatest fears had arrived.
Every cell in my body screamed "NO". This was something
to resist in a big way. Acceptance of my Mom's illness
and death seemed incomprehensible to me. I felt gripped
in fear of what was to come for my Mom, my family
and me.
I had learned about happiness as a choice in self
growth classes at the Option Institute, and in books
written by Bears Kaufman. I decided to do some self
exploration.
During an Option Process® Dialogue, I explored
my feelings and beliefs about my Mom's illness and
death. I realized that my biggest priority was to
stay comfortable and useful to my Mom and my family.
The most loving act would be to accept and trust what
was happening.
In this one Dialogue, I uncovered beliefs and made
choices that took me to a place of emotional strength.
Exploring my beliefs and choosing how I wanted to
experience my Mother's illness and death, took me
to a destination far different than the road I had
started on that day when I learned of my Mom's illness.
I created a sense of acceptance, trust, and peace
that lasted throughout the progression of my Mom's
illness…even as I held her hand as she peacefully
died at home with my family and me by her side.
I continue to be amazed and filled with gratitude
for the Option Process® Dialogue that helped me
to flow instead of resist, and to choose faith, love
and happiness over fear.
I was privileged to walk my Mom to heaven, and in
the process created my own heaven here and now. I
have no regrets, and continue to live in trust, love,
and peace."
