About the Author

Barry Neil Kaufman is a best-selling author of 12 books, including Happiness Is A Choice and Son-Rise: The Miracle Continues. He is the Co-Founder, with his wife, Samahria, of the world renowned Option Institute International Learning & Training Center in Sheffield, Massachusetts (U.S.A.), which offers programs for adults who come to learn The Option Process^®, an empowering and life-changing system for personal growth. The Option Institute is also home to Autism Treatment Center of America and The Son-Rise Program^®, helping families who have children with special needs.

Mr. Kaufman and The Option Institute have been featured in over 2,000 major media articles and programs, including The New York Times, People Magazine, Reader’s Digest, Good Morning America, and interviews with Oprah Winfrey. Over 200 universities have placed his books on reading lists for courses in departments such as Philosophy, Psychology, and Education.

Additionally, Mr. Kaufman leads workshops, conducts seminars and presents motivational talks worldwide. He and his wife won the Humanitas Prize for their screenplay of the NBC movie, Son-Rise: The Miracle of Love, after helping their once-autistic son emerge from the “incurable” illness of autism.
